Updated: January 10th, 2023

We “millennials” need coffee and WiFi to power through our work. If you are looking for a great coffee shop with ample space, enough outlets for you and your co-working partner, and a great ambiance in Harlem and beyond, check out the list below:

  • The Chipped Cup - This woman-owned coffee shop located in the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem ALWAYS has enough seats to plant your butt in and get the work done. The last time I was here, I rocked out to a complete Michael Jackson playlist and damn near moon-walked across the floor (in my head!).

  • The Uptown Garrison - The Garrison opens every day at 7 am and offers a daytime menu that includes soups, sandwiches, coffee, and WiFi!  I can see this quickly becoming a go-to spot for freelancers, students, and others during the day. Check out my dinner blog post about this Washington Heights establishment here.

  • The Boogie Down Grind Cafe - I recently visited the only specialty coffee shop in Hunts Points, Bronx and I love the sense of community. They host art shows, karaoke nights, and their baristas got a mean latte art game. I have mentioned many times I feel like people forget about The Bronx and there are amazing businesses YOU need to know about, and this is one of them. #BlackOwned

  • 787 Coffee - As the 787 Coffee empire expands, it finds a home in Harlem on West 129th. The founders started the company several years ago to share the appreciation of Puerto Rican coffee while providing jobs to one of the poorest parts of PR.
