New: The Row Harlem Restaurant & Lounge
The Row is the newest restaurant and lounge to open on 7th avenue in Harlem! I typically do not write reviews for new establishments opened less than two months because as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry I know it takes a couple of months for new restaurants to work out the kinks so consider this an announcement of a new business. The owners are born and raised Harlem and excited to bring this option the historic area known as Strivers’ Row.
This space was formerly occupied by the Jamaican American restaurant called Hyacinth’s Haven. The new owners have completely revamped the basement level area into a sexy space with beautiful chandlers, perfect ambiance, carefully crafted and smooth signature cocktails, and a food menu where presentation and taste match one another. The Row has a very mature atmosphere where you can sip on some of the finest cocktails while hearing Anita Baker playing in the background. The icing on the cake is this is a black-owned business as well.
Their menu included appetizers, entrees, and desserts that offer up vegetarian options well. The drink menu for The Row Harlem was crafted by Courtney Haughton which is well known and respected in the restaurant industry. Courtney has created his spin on the Rum Punch drink which is called Planters Punch. The owners anticipate having a brunch option by February so stay tuned for a full review of that.
