Honeygrow: 5 Reasons You Will Love This Fast Casual Restaurant

Before living in New York City, I called Philly home for about two years, and this is where my relationship with Honeygrow started. I call it a relationship because double parking your car in Center City during rush hour three to four times a week to grab my favorite noodles is taking a risk. Upon moving to NYC, I had to learn how to cope with not having my favorite fast-casual restaurant in arms reach. This all sounds dramatic, but it is true! Fast forward to current day, and Honeygrow now has two locations in the NYC metro area.

In 2012, Honeygrow was birthed from the plant-based diet that the CEO, Justin Rosenberg, was adhering to.  This Philadelphia based company’s rising popularity in the City of Brotherly Love quickly grew to 30 locations in other cities such as Boston, Chicago, and Washington D.C.  Honeygrow is a fast casual restaurant that prides themselves on the highest quality, wholesome, and simple foods.  Their menu includes customize-able stir-fry and salads, cold-pressed drinks, and a honeybar if you are in the mood for something sweet.  Here are 5 reasons why you will fall in love with Honeygrow:

  • Keeping it local

    • Honeygrow is a firm believer in sourcing as many ingredients locally as possible and using local artists to create artwork in their locations. They recently brought back their popular takeout box in which Philly street artist, Amberella, created for them.

  • Self-service kiosk

    • With an endless amount of options it is nice you don’t have to subject a human to your indecisiveness. Their kiosk allows you to select from their signature stir-fry or salad or start from scratch and make your own creation without interacting with a person.

  • Involved CEO

    • I have met Justin on several occasions, and he is the most down to earth guy I have ever met. We have discussed everything from where to get the best cheese-steak in Philly to our favorite episode of The Wire to the future of the HG brand. He is very connected in every part of his business which makes me love this brand even more.

  • Sister restaurant

    • After much success with Honeygrow, Minigrow was created and established in Justin’s hometown of New York City.

  • Seasonal and holiday menu items

    • These items rotate with the season but their new holiday item which is the Sausage & Peppers stir-fry is delicious.  This limited time dish includes freshly made egg white noodles, local sweet Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, organic baby spinach, grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, shaved Parmesan chili flakes, and tomato basil sauce.
