Harlem EatUp Round Up
After two days of food and beverage tasting, I am ready to share my recap of Harlem EatUp experience. This annual week-long event concludes with the Ultimate Grand Tasting at The Stroll that takes place in the beautiful Morningside Park in Harlem. Harlem based businesses and others can showcase the best things they have to offer, but more importantly, attendees get to discover new items or indulge in some in some of their favorites.
This was my first time attending this event, which I am embarrassed to say as a food blogger living in Harlem, but I am thankful I got to experience it. Thank you to Ruby's Vintage (check out my blog post here about this bar that has a lot of history behind it) and Jamaica Tourist Board ( Visit Jamaica ) for my tickets to attend Saturday and Sunday.
Couple of tips for a successful Ultimate Grand Tasting include:
Don't wear white and bring a tide pen because life happens.
Majority of the time you are in direct sunlight, so I encourage drinking plenty of water (don't worry there are portable bathrooms at the event).
Bring a fan to keep cool.
Arrive hungry because there is a lot of food available.
Hit the most popular stands early to make sure you don't miss out on the good stuff before they run out.
Check out the cooking demonstrations happening on the Main Stage.
If you are a Citi cardholder, I would recommend using it to purchase your tickets as you get early entry and access to the Citi tent that includes additional food and drink.
