Event: Sip.Eat.Harlem

Last week was suppose to be the 46th annual Harlem Week, but because of the current landscape of the pandemic, Uptown had to pivot. A Harlem based and award-winning marketing company, Experience Harlem, decided to find another way to highlight Harlem Black-owned restaurants and support a great cause within the community such as Boys & Girls Club of Harlem. This event allowed you to purchase a ticket for $25 and it included a cocktail and an appetizer at the location selection. Check out a list of restaurants that participated in the event:

Chocolat Restaurant & Bar

Londel’s Supper Club

LoLo’s Seafood Shack

Ponty Bistro

Renaissance Harlem

Ruby’s Vintage + Sexy Taco Pop Up

Settepani

Vinaterìa

Experience Harlem stated:

Prior to the pandemic, Black-owned businesses were already struggling and declining in NYC.  Black people represent 22% of the population but only 2% of the businesses in NYC are Black-owned.

This quote only further supports my reasoning for the work I do to highlight Black-owned businesses. Check out the photos from the event.
