Xi'an Famous Foods
What is Xi'an Famous Foods? Xi'an (pronounced she- ahn) is a fast casual dining establishment serving authentic Northern Chinese dishes. With 12 locations throughout New York City and being featured in New York Times, Wall Street Journal,
and Forbes. Anthony Bourdain has given props to this establishment SEVERAL times. Sounds like CEO, Jason Wang, knows how to grow a business (pssst he is a Washington University - St. Louis alumni...can't spell Hustle without STL- oh looking ass). With their humble beginnings in Flushing Shopping Mall to now locations as north as Upper West Side to Greenpoint in Brooklyn.
Their specialty is their hand pulled or hand ripped noodles that comes with a firm recommendation of eating while in the restaurant. When the noodles tend to cool the texture changes and become somewhat mushy and oily. If you are within a block or two of a location, then you are within the safe zone for take-out. Other popular items among-st customers are listed below, and my personal favorites are in bold:
Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger
Spicy & Tingly Beef Hand Ripped Noodles
Hand Pulled Noodles In Soup
Spicy & Sour Lamb Dumplings
Spicy & Sour Spinach Dumplings
Majority of the items are spicy in flavoring, but some can be prepared more on the mild side if requested. The portions are very filling, the wait is always short once you have ordered, and pricing is very reasonable. On top of these things I just mentioned they are consistent in their food, and their hip-hop music playlist is kick-ass.
